Meet the owner
Marty Laidler
Originally from the North- East of England, Marty came to Australia in 2001 and circumnavigated his way around Australia in a 1977 Nissan E20 Campervan.
After seeing many sights, Marty thought his photos didn’t do the wonderful landmarks justice and vowed to embark on a photography course in Melbourne on his return.
After completing a slide film course in 2005, Marty never left the house without his camera and after working as a paid hobbyist for many years, it wasn’t until 2018 when he decided to quit the corporate world and follow his professional desires.

About Marty Laidler

After seeing many sights, Marty thought his photos didn’t do the wonderful landmarks justice and vowed to embark on a photography course in Melbourne on his return.
The learnings of that 35mm Slide Film course still hold value to this day and are the basis of all of Marty’s photographic styles.
After many years of perennially having a camera in hand and an absolute dedication to self-improvement Marty decided to turn a paid hobby into a full-time profession, quitting a comfortable corporate banking gig to set up a small photo studio in his house in Lower Plenty.
Marty has lived in Banyule for over 15 years, has a wife and three wonderful and photogenic daughters (they have to be), enjoys playing golf at Heidelberg Golf Club and spending time at Lower Plenty Cricket Club.
